Deuteronomy 18:18
I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren,
like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them
all that I shall command him.
Fulfillment
Matthew 21:11
And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth
of Galilee.
Luke 7:16
And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That
a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
John 4:19
The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
John 6:14
Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did,
said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
John 7:40
Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of
a truth this is the Prophet.

Shall be a priest
Prophecy
Psalm 110:4
The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for
ever after the order of Melchizedek.
Fulfillment
Hebrews 3:1
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling,
consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
Hebrews 5:5,6
So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest;
but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
As he
saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of
Melchisedec.

Anointed with the Holy Spirit

Isaiah 11:2
And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of
wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of
knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
Psalm 45:7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
Isaiah 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
Isaiah 61:1-2
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath
anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the
brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the
prison to them that are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the
water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God
descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
And lo a voice from heaven,

Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom

A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking

there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had
opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
The Spirit of the
Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;
he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the
captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are
bruised,
To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
And he closed the
book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all
them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
And he began to say
unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Luke 4:43
And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other
cities also: for therefore am I sent.
John 1:32
And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from
heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

Malachi 3:1

the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith
the LORD of hosts.

And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of
one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths
straight.

For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my
messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
John 1:23
He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make
straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
Luke 1:17
And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to
turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the
wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Ministry to Begin in Galilee
Prophecy
Isaiah 9:1
Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation,
when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of
Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea,
beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
Fulfillment
Matthew 4:12-17
Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he
departed into Galilee;
And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum,
which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
That
it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
The
land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond
Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
The people which sat in darkness saw great
light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung
up.
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom
of heaven is at hand.

Ministry of Miracles
Prophecy
Isaiah 35:5,6
Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the
deaf shall be unstopped.
Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the
tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and
streams in the desert.
Isaiah 32:3-4
And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of
them that hear shall hearken.
The heart also of the rash shall understand
knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.

Matthew 9:35
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in
their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every
sickness and every disease among the people.

As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man
possessed with a devil.
And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and
the multitudes marveled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those

The blind receive their sight, and the lame
walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and
the poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he, whosoever shall
not be offended in me.
Mark 7:33-35
And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into
his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
And looking up to heaven, he
sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
And straightway
his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake
plain.
John 5:5-9
And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight
years.
When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in
that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
The impotent man
answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the
pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
Jesus saith unto
him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
And immediately the man was made whole,
and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the Sabbath.
John 9:6-11
When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the
spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
And said
unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He
went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
The neighbours therefore,
and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that
sat and begged?
Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he
said, I am he.
Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine
eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and
washed, and I received sight.
John 11:43-47
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus,
come forth.
And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them,
Loose him, and let him go.
Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had
seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.
But some of them went their
ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.
Then
gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we?
for this man doeth many miracles.

Stone of Stumbling to Jews
Prophecy
Psalm 118:22
The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone
of the corner.
Isaiah 8:14
And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and
for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to
the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Isaiah 28:16
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a
foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation:
he that believeth shall not make haste.
Fulfillment
1 Peter 2:7
Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them
which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made
the head of the corner,
Romans 9:32,33
Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by
the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
As it is
written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and
whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

A Light to Gentiles
Prophecy
Isaiah 60:3
And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the
brightness of thy rising.
Isaiah 49:6
And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my
servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel:
I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my
salvation unto the end of the earth.
Fulfillment
Acts 13:47-48
For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a
light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the
earth.
And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the
word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
Acts 26:23
That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that
should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the
Gentiles.
Acts 28:28
Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent
unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
